Computer Attacks Made Easy,
and What You Can Do to Stop Them

Abstract
A demonstration and review of currently available hacking tools used to attack and penetrate networks and systems, including Trojan horses, viruses, scanning programs and more. We’ll also review and demonstrate wireless hacking. After reviewing the threats, a comprehensive walkthrough of appropriate countermeasures will follow. Prevention technologies such as firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection will be discussed, as will policies, training and general processes that mitigate system vulnerabilities.

Biographical Sketch of Speaker
Since graduating from Villanova Law School in 1997, Tim has worked in Information Technology. He served as a developer and software tester for Andersen Consulting. Later, for Shared Medical Systems, Tim was a developer, Internet architect and information security specialist. In 1999, Tim joined Internet Security Systems as a Sr. Systems Engineer, after which, he left to start his own company, White Wolf Security. Throughout the course of the last year, Tim has presented several Information Security Seminars, provided information for the book Cybershock by Winn Schwartau, and has developed an approved Continuing Legal Education course on InfoSec for attorneys. Recently, he completed a 5 month contract with the CyberSecurity Center of Carnegie Mellon Research Institute. He has taught a wide variety of students from the US Military, state and federal law enforcement, attorneys, and corporate systems administrators.
